After a win over LBJ-MVP-08 in my first matchup in the MLB Mock Draft 2008 Touranment, it's time for my second matchup, against H2OWilly.
Batting Order:
- LF Shannon Stewart
- RF Kosuke Fukudome
- SS Miguel Tejada
- DH Josh Willingham
- 1B Ryan Howard
- CF Vernon Wells
- 3B Melvin Mora
- C John Buck
- 2B Ray Durham
Bench:
Rotation:
Bullpen:
- Joakim Soria (Closer)
- Jose Valverde
- Rafael Soriano
- Damaso Marte
- Jared Burton
- Jesus Colome
- Adam Eaton (Long Reliever)
Home field: PETCO Park
Due to his struggles to start the season, I've decided to move Howard down to 5th in the order. Also, I don't know who Scott Kazmir's injury will affect him this season, so I moved him down to 4th in my rotation for precautionary reasons. As listed above, Joakim Soria is my closer. Jose Valverde and Rafael Soriano are my set-up men, and Damaso Marte is my left-handed specialist.
Why I think I could win: My offense isn't great, but we should still be able to put up enough runs against H2O's mediocre pitching rotation. Not trying to be cocky, but I believe my rotation is one of the best, if not THE best rotation in this tournament, and having PETCO Park as my homefield certainly helps.
